Monza Verona prediction 2025-02-01

Monza vs Verona prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-01-31 14:00.
[p]Monza’s status as a top-flight club looks more and more precarious by the week, with the Biancorossi entering the round seven points from safety at the foot of Serie A. There was no encouragement to be found from their 2-0 defeat by Genoa on Monday night, as they managed  a measly one shot on target en route to a fifth successive away defeat across all competitions.[/p]

[p]Even a return to Stadio Brianteo is unlikely to provide much hope, as just one team across Europe’s traditional top-five leagues has picked up fewer than Monza’s six home points (W1, D3, L7). That win did at least come in their most recent outing there against Fiorentina, although the 2-1 scoreline in that game also means Monza have now gone 15 top-flight home games without a clean sheet.[/p]

[p]That should be welcome news for opponents Verona, who have only scored one goal across their last four matches (D2, L2). That strike came during a 1-1 draw against fellow-strugglers Venezia on Monday, but it is at the back where the Mastiffs have truly struggled this season having conceded a comfortable league-high 48 goals![/p]

[p]Such a miserable defensive record contributes to Paolo Zanetti’s side sitting precariously above the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference ahead of this round. Confidence can be drawn from the fact that their last two wins have come on the road, where they are on a run of one defeat in four matches (W2, D1), while Verona have also been beaten in only one of their five trips to Monza this century (W2, D2). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Monza’s Georgios Kyriakopoulos will be hoping his good record in H2Hs continues, as he has lost just twice in eight meetings with Verona (W4, D2), registering a joint-career high three assists in the process. That could be put to the test by visiting forward Amin Sarr who has won nine of the last ten games he’s scored in (L1), with each of those matches featuring 3+ total goals.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Verona are the only team in Serie A with a 100% record when going 1-0 up this season (W4), but they have also conceded first on a league-high 17 occasions (W2, D1, L14).[/p]
