Atl. Madrid vs Mallorca prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-01-31 17:30.
[p]Things were going exceptionally well for Atlético Madrid in the La Liga title race, but two failures to win across their last two league games (D1, L1) have handed the initiative back to city rivals Real Madrid. Diego Simeone’s side at least parked their domestic disappointment to beat Salzburg 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League in midweek and book their spot in the last 16 ahead of a landmark day for Simeone, who takes charge of his 500th La Liga game as Atlético boss. [/p]
[p]A return home seems positive in that sense, as before last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Villarreal, they’d won six successive home league games. Atlético haven’t failed to win successive La Liga home games since November 2022, and history would suggest the visit of Mallorca means that will remain intact given the Mattress Makers have won the last four H2Hs, the last three of which came with an accompanying clean sheet. [/p]
[p]The bookmakers are certainly expecting another win for Atlético, especially considering Mallorca are yet to score a goal in 2025, losing all four of their competitive outings in the process. Isolating just their league form, which reads four defeats in six (W2), you’d be forgiven for thinking they’re dropping down the table, but they actually start this round in sixth and firmly in the race for the European places if they can turn things around quickly. [/p]
[p]Mallorca’s last ten La Liga games have followed a peculiar pattern of two wins, two defeats – something they’ll want to see continue here having lost their last two such outings. Despite that sequence offering some hope to travelling fans, Mallorca boss Jagoba Arrasate has lost 12 of his 13 La Liga meetings with AtlĂ©tico (W1), more than against any other opponent in the competition, making it even more unlikely that the visitors will register just their second away win in this part of Madrid since 2006 (D5, L5). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Antoine Griezmann was at the double for AtlĂ©tico in midweek and he’s been involved in five goals in his last eight La Liga games against Mallorca (G2, A3). Vedat Muriqi could be the man to end Mallorca’s goal drought – his two career H2H goals both came in 1-0 wins. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: A league-high 14 of Mallorca’s La Liga games this season stood level at half-time ahead of the round.[/p]
