Reims vs Nantes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-02-01 16:15.
[p]Both Reims and Nantes are still firmly in the relegation picture at the foot of Ligue 1, so their clash on matchday 20 is one which carries huge significance. Despite coming into this game four points better off than their visitors, Reims are winless in eight league games (D5, L3), and you’d have to go back to 2012/13 to find the last time the hosts went more than eight Ligue 1 matches without a win in the same season. [/p]
[p]They’ve still got some way to go to get near that 15-match winless streak over a decade ago, but without a win in six home league games (D3, L3), they could take another unwanted step on that road here. Seeking a first Ligue 1 win at Stade Auguste Delaune since early October, the visit of Nantes is perhaps a timely one for Reims as they have won seven of the last nine league H2Hs, including emerging with a 2-1 victory in the reverse H2H courtesy of an injury-time winner. [/p]
[p]One defeat in seven league matches sounds great on the face of it for Nantes, but just a single win therein somewhat tarnishes that record (D5). Their last four Ligue 1 outings have ended all square, and you’d have to go back to December 2015 for their last run of five successive stalemates at this level, but another draw here would perhaps be viewed as a positive result.[/p]
[p]That’s largely because Nantes have only won one of their last 13 Ligue 1 away games (D7, L5), although their task has certainly been made much harder by the fact they conceded first in six of the last seven of those games. They can ill afford to give themselves a mountain to climb here, as this is a ground they’re yet to win on since the turn of the century (D2, L6).[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Reims’ Keito Nakamura was the scorer of that late winner when these two sides met earlier in the season – six of his seven club goals since arrived before the hour mark. Nantes’ Matthis Abline likes to have the first say for his team, scoring his side’s first goal on his last 13 scoring club appearances.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Nantes have conceded exactly one first-half goal in seven of their ten away league games this season. [/p]
