Stuttgart Augsburg prediction 2025-02-04

Stuttgart vs Augsburg prediction: GERMANY: DFB Pokal betting tips on match 2025-02-03 19:45.
[p]It’s been a tough week for Stuttgart, who were dumped out of the UEFA Champions League after losing 4-1 to PSG, before a 2-1 defeat at the weekend to Borussia Mönchengladbach knocked them out of the Bundesliga top-four.The DFB-Pokal could provide welcome respite, as the Swabians look to make it to the semi-finals of the competition for the second time in the last three seasons. [/p]

[p]The hosts will be cautious heading into this fixture, as they were beaten at this stage last season by eventual winners Bayer Leverkusen. An ongoing three-match winning streak against opponents Augsburg means this fixture looks a little easier on paper, with Stuttgart’s return of one loss in their last nine H2Hs since a 6-0 humbling back in April 2019 placing them as favourites to progress (W7, D1).[/p]

[p]Augsburg would love to produce a repeat of that thrashing, and although that seems unlikely on paper, the visitors’ recent form sees them come into this clash unbeaten in four matches (W3, D1). With two of those victories coming on the road without conceding, the visitors will hope that this cup match has fallen at the perfect time. [/p]

[p]Only once across club history have Augsburg reached the semi-finals of this competition, eventually falling 2-0 to Werder Bremen in 2009/10, while since then, they’ve only progressed to the quarter-finals on three occasions – including this one. The Fuggerstädter have lost each of their last four DFB-Pokal ties against fellow Bundesliga sides however, last getting the better of such opposition in this competition back in October 2018 with victory over Mainz. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Nick Woltemade has led the line for Stuttgart in this competition, scoring three goals in as many matches, though he’s failed to score in each of his prior four H2Hs with Augsburg. Phillip Tietz scored on his first meeting with Stuttgart, and will hope to end a three-match H2H scoring drought here as each of his four previous DFB-Pokal goalscoring appearances ended in victory.  [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Augsburg’s last ten DFB-Pokal matches have averaged 4.5 total goals per game. [/p]
