Real Madrid Atl. Madrid prediction 2025-02-08

Real Madrid vs Atl. Madrid prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-02-07 20:00.
[p]The stakes are high for the 238th Madrid derby with Real Madrid (H2H: W116, D62, L59) leading city rivals Atlético Madrid by one point at the La Liga summit and seeking a positive response to their 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Espanyol last weekend. The club took the unusual step of formally complaining about the officiating after Carlos Romero was only booked for a wild challenge on Kylian Mbappé before adding insult to injury by scoring the winner.[/p]

[p]It was a dismal day for Los Blancos as Antonio RĂĽdiger limped off to leave manager Carlo Ancelotti short of central defenders and perhaps rueing not bringing in cover during the transfer window. Although AtlĂ©tico are his bogey team of sorts – he’s won just 35% of his Madrid derbies in charge (W8, D7, L8) – Real haven’t lost a home league H2H since February 2016 (W3, D5).[/p]

[p]After starting February strongly by beating Mallorca 2-0 last weekend and then thrashing Getafe 5-0 in the Copa del Rey, Atlético come into this top-of-the-table clash in good form. That stands them in good stead as they look to claim a rare triumph at the Bernabéu given that these two could also meet in domestic and European cup action in the coming weeks.[/p]

[p]Victory over Mallorca was a fine way for Diego Simeone to celebrate his 500th La Liga match in charge of Los Colchoneros, but he’ll be focused on righting the ship after they lost 1-0 to Leganés in their last league away fixture. That was their second defeat in five La Liga road fixtures (W3), one fewer loss than in their previous 15 such outings (W7, D5, L3).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Brazilian Samuel Lino has scored in three of Atlético’s last four games and netting again could be a good omen as they’re yet to lose a match in which he scored (W11, D1). Compatriot Vinícius Júnior has only scored one goal for Real against Atlético, but he remains dangerous after providing five assists in 14 previous Madrid derby appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Each of the last four La Liga H2Hs Madrid hosted produced exactly two goals with three of those producing one in each half (Real: W2, D2).[/p]
