Cagliari Parma prediction 2025-02-09

Cagliari vs Parma prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-02-08 14:00.
[p]After they only narrowly avoided Serie A relegation last season, Cagliari continue to unwillingly flirt with danger. They start this round just one point above the danger spots, the last of which is occupied by their next opponent Parma. The positives of starting 2025 with seven points from three games have evaporated quickly as consecutive defeats put Davide Nicola’s side in danger of posting a cluster of 3+ consecutive league losses for the fourth time this season![/p]

[p]A 2-1 loss to Lazio last Monday was their third defeat across the last four home league games (W1), although all three came against teams that finished last weekend in the top-four. The lone exception in that sequence (4-1 vs Lecce) was against a bottom-half club like Parma, and with four wins out of the last five top-flight home H2Hs (D1), this fixture could prove to be a turning point for the Sardinians.[/p]

[p]This is a second consecutive relegation ‘six-pointer’ for Parma, who were dragged into the bottom three after a 3-1 loss to Lecce last Friday extended their winless run (D2, L3). With eight defeats over the last 13 league games (W3, D2) since November 2024, the Crusaders are seemingly crucifying their chances of staying up in the top-flight. Defensive lapses keep holding them back as the recent defeat marked an eighth instance this league season of Parma conceding 3+ goals. [/p]

[p]But it’s not just the magnitude of goals conceded that is alarming. Four defeats in ten league matches where they scored the opener (W3, D3) this season put the spotlight on their inability to stay competitive throughout the game. That was also the case in their last away game against AC Milan (L 3-2) where they conceded twice in stoppage-time.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Nadir Zortea delivered Cagliari’s first goal with four of his last five league strikes, including in the reverse fixture. Defender Emanuele Valeri had a hand in Parma’s opening goal of the match with one of his five contributions in this league campaign (G2, A3), but it could be his defensive duties that may take precedence in this match.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: After last weekend, no league team has seen more match goals scored beyond the 75th minute than Parma (21).[/p]
