Fenerbahce vs Anderlecht prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-02-12 17:45.
[p]In the thick of an intense title race in the Turkish Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe must pause their quest to finish above rivals Galatasaray in order to resume their UEFA Europa League (UEL) campaign. The Turkish giants can count themselves incredibly lucky that they even have the chance to still fight on the European front, as they advanced to the knockout play-off round in the 16th and final qualification spot for this stage by virtue of a single goal. [/p]
[p]Now they’re here though, Fenerbahçe really ought to feel confident of advancing to the last 16 considering they’re unbeaten in 12 competitive games (W9, D3). They’ve been particularly strong at home where they’ve won eight of their last ten games (D1, L1), but losing the first leg in four of their last six major European knockout ties hints this game may not be as straightforward as the formbook suggests. [/p]
[p]While the Turkish side were the lowest ranked of the 16 teams at this stage, Anderlecht were the second-highest, missing out on the top-eight and a last 16 ticket by virtue of goal difference. A 2-0 final day defeat against Viktoria Plzeň ultimately proved fatal for them, and that game forms part of a record of three losses from their last six competitive games (W2, D1) as they continue to struggle domestically.[/p]
[p]The Belgian side are a whopping 15 points off the title pace while their European campaign could soon be in tatters if they can’t snap a negative away H2H run. This will be Anderlecht’s fourth trip to Fenerbahçe, and none of the other three saw them as much as score a goal (D1, L2), but their four UEL league phase away games did yield a respectable seven points (W2, D1, L1). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Youssef En-Nesyri has scored four UEL goals for Fenerbahçe this season – only two players have ever netted more in a major European campaign for the club and no one has since 2007/08. Anderlecht’s Kasper Dolberg tends to score in pairs as his last seven scoring appearances saw him net at least twice. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Fenerbahçe have only failed to score in two home games this season, but both instances came in the UEL. [/p]
