Villarreal vs Valencia prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-02-14 20:00.
[p]Villarreal stayed in the hunt for a top-four finish with a 2-1 win over Las Palmas last weekend, a result which was their fourth victory across their last six league games (D1, L1). They could now record three consecutive La Liga wins for the first time since March 2024 when the Yellow Submarine won four in a row – a run which included a 1-0 home victory over their Derbi de la Comunitat opponents Valencia.[/p]
[p]Marcelino’s side seem to have hit form at the right time as they have won their last two league matches at Estadio de la Cerámica, scoring 4+ goals in each. The home fans should be hopeful of continuing that run as Villarreal won six of their last seven top-flight H2Hs (W6, D1) at this venue, including five consecutive wins which marks their longest home H2H winning streak in this competition.[/p]
[p]Valencia are fighting a completely different battle at the other end of the table, and a 2-0 win over LeganĂ©s last Sunday got them to within one point of safety. Boss Carlos Corberán has given them a new lease of life in their battle to stave off relegation with three wins in their last four league games (L1), responding in perfect fashion to two severe drubbings at the hands of Barcelona – a 7-1 loss in the league and a 5-0 defeat in the Copa del Rey.[/p]
[p]The 7-1 league loss came on their last away league matchday, and Valencia still remain winless on the road in La Liga this season (D4, L7). A lack of goals has largely been behind their struggles, as the visitors have one of the worst away scoring records of the division (GF6), failing to score more than once in a single game, but five goals in the last six such trips is perhaps a sign of changing fortunes.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Ayoze Pérez scored in Villarreal’s last two matches and has four goals in as many H2Hs, the most he’s netted against a single La Liga opponent. That included the equaliser in the reverse fixture where Valencia’s goal was scored by Hugo Duro, who also delivered their last away strike.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Prior to this round, no team had scored more goals beyond the 80th minute this season than Villarreal’s 13.[/p]
