Brest Reims prediction 2025-03-16

Brest vs Reims prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-03-15 16:15.
[p]Brest ended a six-match winless streak across all competitions (D2, L4) last Sunday when they beat Angers 2-0. That was the sixth successive Ligue 1 home game in which Brest had scored at least twice, and the Pirates also put two past Reims when they won 2-1 in October’s reverse fixture, affording them the chance to post an eighth successive H2H without defeat (W2, D5).[/p]

[p]Beginning this gameweek in ninth place and six points adrift of the top six, a return to continental action next season isn’t yet out of the question. After a month of cup exits in February, which saw them trounced by PSG in the UEFA Champions League before a shock Coupe de France defeat to Ligue 2 Dunkerque, Éric Roy’s side can at least place their full focus on catching the top six.[/p]

[p]Reims won both of their Coupe de France fixtures last month and have a semi-final against fourth division Cannes scheduled for early April, but it is their league form which is of real concern currently. They haven’t won a Ligue 1 match since November (D5, L9) and have fallen from fourth place in early October to 15th where they start this round, with only one point separating them from the bottom three.[/p]

[p]Samba Diawara has been in charge of the team for the last five league games but is yet to see Reims score a Ligue 1 goal, let alone pick up a point. If that run continues on Sunday, the Red and Whites will equal an unwanted French top-flight record of six consecutive losses without finding the net, something which only Ajaccio (1968/69), Lille (2002/03) and Nancy (2012/13) have previously done! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Romain Faivre was involved in both of Brest’s goals (G1, A1) in the H2H earlier this season and he was also on the scoresheet in last weekend’s victory over Angers. With the exception of penalty shootouts, Keito Nakamura is the only Reims player to have scored since the start of February and his last six direct goal contributions (G5, A1) have all been in away fixtures![/p]

[p]Hot streak: Brest have opened the scoring before half-time in each of their last three games.[/p]
