Holstein Kiel Werder Bremen prediction 2025-03-29

Holstein Kiel vs Werder Bremen prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-03-28 14:30.
[p]Holstein Kiel fans will probably have enjoyed the international break as it gave their beleaguered team much-needed time to recharge ahead of the final eight league games of the season. Currently eight points from 15th place and definite safety, relegation looks highly likely for Marcel Rapp’s men, who have lost 17 of their first 26 top-flight matches, the worst total by any Bundesliga debutant since St. Pauli in 1977/78.[/p]

[p]Playing at home should provide something of a boost for Kiel, who have accumulated the majority of their paltry points haul at Holstein-Stadion this term and have avoided defeat in four of their last six such clashes (W2, D2, L2). Adding to the win column is a must here, with no side having survived on 17 or fewer points at this stage of a Bundesliga campaign, and having conceded a division-high 64 goals this season, the defence is the clear area for improvement. [/p]

[p]Visiting Werder Bremen are not exactly airtight themselves and arrive with the league’s second-worst defence in 2024/25 ahead of the upcoming round of fixtures (53 goals conceded). Nineteen of those goals have arrived during a rotten run of current form (W1, L6), which has led to elimination from the DFB-Pokal and staring into the mid-table abyss, albeit with a substantial gap to the drop zone. [/p]

[p]Formerly Kiel head coach between 2019 and 2021, Bremen boss Ole Werner returns to Holstein-Stadion for the first time since leaving the Storks, while his two home H2Hs against his former club in the intervening period have seen both teams score and over 2.5 match goals (W1, L1). Bremen will be confident about snatching the three points though, as they ended a four-game winless away league run by beating reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen on their latest trip. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Each of Kiel attacker Steven Skrzybski’s four scoring appearances this season have seen both teams find the net at least twice, although he was not on the winning side in any of those encounters (D3, L1). Since leaving Kiel, Werder striker Marvin Ducksch has contributed to four goals in six personal meetings with his former club (G2, A2). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Bremen have picked up more than 60% of their points away from home this season and have won all three of their league games on the road in that time against sides currently below themselves. [/p]
