Girona Alaves prediction 2025-04-05

Girona vs Alaves prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-04-04 12:00.
[p]It’s not the best time to be a Girona fan, with the side sliding down the table after having won just one of their last ten La Liga contests (D3, L6). The Catalan club are seven straight league games without a victory (D3, L4), and now face Alavés looking to avoid eight straight games without a win in this competition for the first time since going ten matches without a win in 2019 (D4, L6). [/p]

[p]The latest defeat was a crushing 4-1 reverse to derby rivals Barcelona, a side they beat both home and away in the league last season, in a campaign which ended with them finishing third. And there’s no bigger example than their respective points tallies of how far they’ve fallen since, with Girona a whopping 28 points worse off than at this stage last season! [/p]

[p]Perhaps it’s not ideal timing to face an Alavés side currently on their joint-best unbeaten away run in the league this season (D3), although they have never strung together four straight away draws in the Spanish top flight. They were on the losing side last time out, with a 2-0 home defeat to Rayo Vallecano leaving them above the relegation zone only by virtue of goal difference coming into the gameweek. [/p]

[p]Points are vital if the Basque club are to avoid just a second relegation from the top flight since 2006/07, but they’ll have it all to do against a side they haven’t beaten away since 2017 (D1, L2). Alavés have at least scored in all but one of their last nine away outings (W1, D5, L3) in all competitions, with only three La Liga sides hitting more away goals this season![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Against no side (with at least two meetings) has Girona striker Cristhian Stuani been more prolific in terms of goals-per-game (0.75), having struck three goals in his four H2H games against Alavés in Girona colours. For the visitors, Jon Guridi scored in their last away outing, as well as grabbing two goals against Girona in May last season.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: No team has made more errors leading to an opponent shot (including goals) in La Liga this season than Girona (28). [/p]
