Mallorca Celta Vigo prediction 2025-04-05

Mallorca vs Celta Vigo prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-04-04 16:30.
[p]It’s becoming increasingly likely that the side finishing seventh in La Liga this season will qualify for the play-off round of the UEFA Conference League. European football is therefore up for grabs for both Mallorca and Celta Vigo, who joined seventh-placed Rayo Vallecano on 40 points at the start of this round.[/p]

[p]Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate knows what it takes to get there, having steered Osasuna to that very place in 2022/23. His current side have fought hard to create a four-game unbeaten home league run (W2, D2), albeit all against current bottom-half clubs, but perhaps Arrasate’s biggest concern is their ten consecutive league games across all venues without a clean sheet. That’s largely responsible for them winning only two of the ten (D4, L4) and slipping off the pace in their hunt for a long-awaited return to Europe. [/p]

[p]Celta Vigo recorded a seventh consecutive La Liga game without defeat on Monday night when drawing 1-1 at home to relegation contenders Las Palmas. Manager Claudio Giráldez took responsibility for the missed opportunity, blaming some “very poor” defending which has been their undoing of late given they’ve picked up just two La Liga clean sheets this calendar year.[/p]

[p]One of those did come in their last away league game, but even then it was against bottom side Real Valladolid. Considering their only two away wins and clean sheets of this La Liga campaign were against lowly Valladolid and Las Palmas, a significant improvement will be needed to collect their first win in Mallorca for more than 20 years (D3, L4).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Takuma Asano has been justifying his recent starts with goals in each of Mallorca’s last two home games. Borja Iglesias assisted Celta Vigo’s only goal against Las Palmas and is on a four-game winning streak against Mallorca, scoring three goals across those four matches. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only one of Jagoba Arrasate’s last seven managerial matches against Celta Vigo saw both teams score (W2, D2, L3). [/p]
