Lecce vs Venezia prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-04-05 10:30.
[p]Sunday brings a huge clash in Serie A’s relegation battle as Lecce, sat directly above the bottom three, host 19th-placed Venezia. Lecce are five points better off than their opponents, but have lost each of their last five games and are winless in seven overall (D2, L5). Anything but victory on home soil here could see the Wolves drop into the relegation zone come the end of the weekend, depending on other results.[/p]
[p]Lecce’s Achilles heel all season has been their lack of goals, but that problem has really come to light during this seven-game winless sequence. Failing to score five times, Marco Giampaolo’s side are the lowest scorers in the division with just 23 league goals, and they have now drawn a blank in 16 Serie A games this season, which is an unwanted league high.[/p]
[p]Venezia themselves have failed to score in 15 league games this term, with that issue preventing them from turning one point into three throughout the campaign. Only two sides have shared the spoils more often than their 11 stalemates pre-round, and being one of Serie A’s draw specialists has contributed heavily towards Eusebio Di Francesco’s side winning just three league games all season.[/p]
[p]That inability to win games could well result in an immediate return to Serie B, with this just the second time that Venezia have won only three of their first 30 games in a Serie A season. The first time that happened in 2001/02 saw them lose their 31st game, and that omen may not bode well ahead of a trip to Stadio Via del Mare, where they last won an away H2H against Lecce in 1931 (D5, L7)![/p]
[p]Players to watch: Medon Berisha has been booked in four of his last five Lecce appearances, with the last three of those cautions received in the ten minutes either side of half-time. Venezia’s John Yeboah recently returned from suspension, with all five of his yellow cards this term received after the 75th minute.[/p]
[p]Hot streak: Lecce are unbeaten in each of their last 11 Serie A games against opponents in the bottom two positions at the start of the matchday (W6, D5).[/p]
