Marseille Toulouse prediction 2025-04-06

Marseille vs Toulouse prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-04-05 18:45.
[p]A month ago, Marseille were in the driving seat to finish second in Ligue 1, but three straight defeats since then mean that they enter this weekend sitting third behind Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain, with Strasbourg, Lille and Nice all snapping at their heels. But L’OM do have an imperious league record against Toulouse, having not lost to them in any of their last 21 such meetings (W13, D8).[/p]

[p]To extend that run to a club-record 22 successive unbeaten matches against a Ligue 1 opponent, Marseille should ideally start making an impact early in games again, as they have not scored before half-time in their last five encounters. At the other end, their clean-sheet record at the Stade Vélodrome also needs to be addressed, as Roberto De Zerbi’s men have shut out just one side there since defeating Nice 2-0 in mid-September.[/p]

[p]Toulouse are experiencing a dip in form of their own, with back-to-back losses against Strasbourg and Brest keeping them in the bottom half of the table. Les Violets do have the capacity to cause Marseille problems, having scored in each of their last five games against all opponents, with ten of those 12 goals coming after half-time. [/p]

[p]A challenge that Carles MartĂnez Novell’s side have struggled to meet this season has been beating teams in the top half pre-round, having won just one out of 15 of those matches (D4, L10), with that solitary 1-0 victory seeing them benefit from Lens going down to ten men. They can count on themselves to be disciplined, having not received a red card in the league since late August – which as it happens came in the reverse fixture against Marseille in a 3-1 defeat. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Valentin Rongier got Marseille’s consolation in the 3-1 loss to Reims last Saturday, while his first Ligue 1 home goal for the club came against Toulouse in a 6-1 thrashing in December 2022. Also on the scoresheet last weekend was Joshua King, who found the net for the first time in 2025, although it was the first time that Toulouse had fallen to defeat when he had scored for them (W3, D1). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Toulouse have lost four times in Ligue 1 this season after leading 1-0 – the highest such figure among any side in the division heading into the weekend. [/p]
