Leicester Newcastle prediction 2025-04-07

Leicester vs Newcastle prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-04-06 19:00.
[p]After a 2-0 midweek defeat to Manchester City, it now seems a matter of when, not if, Leicester will be relegated from the Premier League, with the Foxes 12 points adrift of safety pre-round. Their return to the top flight has been nothing short of catastrophic, like their decision to part ways with former boss Steve Cooper earlier this season and replace him with Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has lost 14 of his 17 Premier League games since taking charge (W2, D1). [/p]

[p]Things have been most tragic at home, where Leicester have lost seven Premier League games in a row without scoring a single goal. No team in English football history have ever lost eight home league games in a row without scoring, but having failed to hit the back of the net in each of their last four H2Hs against Newcastle, the Foxes stand on the verge of becoming unwanted history makers. [/p]

[p]Newcastle won’t be in any mood to be feeling sympathetic for Leicester, as they desperately need the points to keep pace in the top-four race. Each of the pre-round top seven won their respective midweek games, and the Magpies have very little margin for error as they attempt to close the two-point gap to fourth place ahead of the round, so a clash with a club doomed to relegation seems timely.[/p]

[p]Eddie Howe’s men have won 14 of their last 18 Premier League games against newly-promoted opposition (D3, L1), winning the last six in a row. Hitting the road won’t hinder them either as they’ve already won seven Premier League away matches this season – they managed eight in 2022/23 under Howe when they secured a top-four finish, so a win here could be a huge positive omen for their seasonal aspirations. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Jamie Vardy is perhaps the most likely candidate to break Leicester’s home goal drought, but his last three goals, and three of his last four against Newcastle, arriving after half-time hint that he may have to be patient. Newcastle’s Alexander Isak has scored eight goals in his last six Premier League appearances against sides starting the day in the relegation zone, including five in his last two.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Newcastle have conceded 14 of their 21 away league goals this season before half-time.[/p]
