Le Havre vs Rennes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-04-12 15:15.
[p]Last weekend’s 2-0 victory at Montpellier lifted Le Havre out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone and brought a third win in five games for Didier Digard’s side (D1, L1). After winning back-to-back league games for just the second time this season, they began this round four points above the bottom two. Perhaps more importantly, they were also one point better off than Reims, who occupied the relegation play-off spot at the start of the round.[/p]
[p]Given how tight it remains at the bottom with six games remaining, Le Havre must continue to put points on the board if they are to retain their top-flight status, and they now have the chance to win three Ligue 1 games on the spin for the first time since February 2003! If they achieve that feat on Sunday against Rennes, it’ll also be the first time they’ve won back-to-back home games in the top tier since January 2024.[/p]
[p]Rennes visit Stade Océane having lost three of their last four games (W1), including two by a 1-0 margin. The Red and Blacks have now lost 16 of their 28 league matches this season (W10, D2), but won four of their first five matches under Habib Beye’s control prior to their recent slump, and as a result ended the last round five points and three places better off than Le Havre.[/p]
[p]Victory here would go a long way to ending any lingering relegation fears for Rennes, and Beye’s side should be confident having lost only two of their last 17 H2Hs with Le Havre in Ligue 1 (W7, D8). If they fall behind on Sunday, the task becomes an uphill one bearing in mind that Rennes have earned only one point after conceding the opening goal so far this season (D1, L14), the worst record in the division at the start of the round.[/p]
[p]Key battle: Veteran Le Havre forward André Ayew has lost five of his ten career H2Hs with Rennes (W3, D2), including three of five away from home (W1, D1). Brice Samba has conceded just one goal against Ayew in five career meetings so far, though the goalkeeper won just one of those (D2, L2).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: No side in Ligue 1 had drawn fewer games in 2024/25 prior to this round than Rennes (two).[/p]
