Eintracht Frankfurt Tottenham prediction 2025-04-17

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-04-16 19:00.
[p]Two-time UEFA Europa League (UEL) champions Eintracht Frankfurt moved one step closer to their third semi-final appearance in the competition in seven editions after earning a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur last week. All they need to do now to book their last-four place is to extend their four-match UEL winning streak on home soil, with their most recent such victory seeing them beat Ajax 4-1 in the last 16. [/p]

[p]The German club are on a three-game winning run at Deutsche Bank Park in all competitions after thumping Heidenheim 3-0 at the weekend to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) via their league position. Winning this competition would also land them a spot at Europe’s top table, but with half of their eight home games against English opposition ending all square, advancing inside 90 minutes here may be tough.[/p]

[p]Tottenham last played in a European semi-final in the 2018/19 UCL and history suggests that they are up against it now after squandering their home advantage. That UCL semi-final was the only one of their last ten such UEFA knockout-stage ties that they have successfully negotiated despite failing to win the first leg on their own patch, with the likes of RB Leipzig and Benfica conquering them in such circumstances. [/p]

[p]That record suggests that Tottenham may not fancy a trip to Germany, and losing six of their last seven European knockout matches away to German sides (W1) further illustrates the size of the task ahead. Spurs’ recent form on the road offers no inspiration either, with a rotated starting XI suffering what was the club’s sixth defeat from their last seven encounters in all competitions on their travels (W1) at the weekend when they went down 4-2 against Wolves. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Seven of Hugo Ekitiké’s 30 direct goal involvements this season have been in the UEL, with the Frenchman on the winning side in five of his last six competitive goalscoring home fixtures (L1). Son Heung-min could make a club-record 68th major European appearance for Spurs, but with one goal every 217 minutes this term, it has been one of his least successful continental campaigns on a personal note. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Tottenham have lost five of their last seven knockout stage away games in all UEFA competitions. [/p]
