Lazio Bodo/Glimt prediction 2025-04-17

Lazio vs Bodo/Glimt prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-04-16 19:00.
[p]Lazio have it all to do if they’re to progress from their first European quarter-final tie in seven years, as the UEFA Europa League (UEL) league phase table toppers lost 2-0 in the first leg against Bodø/Glimt. Featuring in the semi-finals will require the Italians to rewrite history having never before overturned a two-goal first-leg deficit in UEFA competition, being eliminated in 12 of their last 15 European ties when losing the first leg by any margin. [/p]

[p]Current form isn’t in favour of Marco Baroni’s men either, with their 1-1 draw in the Derby della Capitale against Roma at the weekend leaving them with just one win from their last seven matches (D4, L2). The Stadio Olimpico faithful will expect the Eagles to at least put up a fight here, since they’re unbeaten in their previous 13 UEL home matches (W7, D6).[/p]

[p]Breaking down Bodø/Glimt will be a tough assignment, as their first-leg triumph was their fourth consecutive win without conceding. Manager Kjetil Knutsen will be setting up his side to finish what they started and become the first Norwegian team to reach the final four of a UEFA competition, and form is with them having won seven of their last nine two-legged ties in Europe.[/p]

[p]There’ll still likely be nerves in the visitors’ camp given that they’ve lost three of their last four UEL away matches (D1), although all of those defeats were by a one-goal margin. Their record in Italy is also concerning with no wins in their prior six visits (D1, L5), and their last trip to these shores was coincidentally in a quarter-final second-leg at the Stadio Olimpico in which they were dismantled 4-0 by Roma.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Lazio may lean on the experience of Pedro, since they’ve won by 2+ goals in three of his four UEL scoring appearances this season. Bodø’s Ulrik Saltnes did the damage with a brace in the first leg, and another goal from him could be the final nail in Lazio’s coffin since they’ve lost none of the last 55 games he’s scored in (W47, D8).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only ten of the 154 teams who have won the first leg of a UEL knockout tie by 2+ goals have failed to progress.[/p]
