Leganes Girona prediction 2025-04-24

Leganes vs Girona prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-04-23 17:00.
[p]Leganés’ 0-0 draw at Mallorca may have seen their winless run in La Liga stretch to six games (D2, L4), but given that they were facing a side currently battling for European qualification, it could prove to be a priceless result in Los Pepineros’ fight for survival. They remain three points adrift of safety heading into the midweek round of fixtures, so a clash with fellow strugglers Girona has a must win feel to it.[/p]

[p]Their position would’ve been much more assured had they not thrown away leads last month against Celta Vigo, Real Betis and Real Madrid (L3), but things have been different this month with Borja Jiménez’s men having scored just once in three games. They didn’t have any problems in front of goal in the reverse fixture, scoring three times, but avenging the 4-3 defeat they suffered then will require Leganés to win a home H2H for the first time ever (D3, L3).[/p]

[p]Girona are still expected to extend their stay in La Liga to a fourth successive campaign, but Monday’s 3-1 loss to Real Betis leaves them just three points above the relegation zone ahead of the round. Their fall from grace has been eye-catching, as since beating Alavés in mid-January to put themselves seventh, the Catalonians have won just one of the following 13 league games (D3, L9). [/p]

[p]Snapping out of that downward spiral on the road, where Girona have lost five of their last six games (D1), is likely to be incredibly difficult. Leganés at least seem an ideal opponent given that the White and Reds have lost just one of the last 13 H2Hs (W7, D5), and following up their 4-3 reverse fixture win would see them secure just a second-ever league double in this fixture.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Renato Tapia was one of the three Leganés scorers at Girona in November, but that was the Peruvian’s only club goal since 2018/19! Cristhian Stuani’s strike against Betis earlier this week may have been just a consolation, but it was his third substitute scoring appearance in six matches, while he also netted off the bench in the reverse fixture.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Girona have not scored a first-half goal in their last six games. [/p]
