Osasuna Sevilla prediction 2025-04-24

Osasuna vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-04-23 17:00.
[p]Back-to-back La Liga wins for the first time since November have revived Osasuna’s hopes of qualifying for Europe – something they have achieved just once since participating in continental competition in 2006/07. Los Rojillos followed up a 2-1 success over Girona by beating Real Valladolid 3-2 on Sunday, a result that leaves them just two points off the top eight after matchday 32. [/p]

[p]It would be all credit to manager Vicente Moreno were he to guide his side to European qualification, especially as a run of one La Liga win in 18 attempts (D11, L6) before the recent upturn in form meant that his position was in jeopardy. A leaky defence is one of the reasons for drawing more games (14) than any other team in the division this season ahead of this round of fixtures, as Osasuna have kept a joint league-low two home clean sheets.[/p]

[p]That is welcome news for Sevilla, who arrive at El Sadar on their longest winless run in the same season since December 2023. A 1-1 home draw against Alavés last weekend, when Los Nervionenses failed to hold on after scoring first, means that Sevilla have not won any of their last five outings (D1, L4), keeping them dangerously close to the relegation dogfight.[/p]

[p]Sunday’s fixture was the first since the return of legendary manager Joaquín Caparrós, whose side are just six points above the bottom three ahead of this round. Supporters can perhaps take solace from the fact that Sevilla’s current haul of 37 points would definitely already have been enough to avoid the drop in five of the last eight seasons, but there may be concern at the club’s failure to win any of the last seven meetings with Osasuna (D4, L3).[/p]

[p]Key battle: Only one goalkeeper has made more La Liga saves this term ahead of matchday 33 than the 109 by Osasuna’s Sergio Herrera. Sevilla’s Isaac Romero is sure to test his resolve, with seven of his last eight goals arriving before half-time, including in a 1-1 draw when these two sides met last season.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: A league-high 14 of Osasuna’s 16 home league games in 2024/25 have seen both teams score.[/p]
