Crystal Palace Aston Villa prediction 2025-04-26

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa prediction: ENGLAND: FA Cup betting tips on match 2025-04-25 16:15.
[p]Crystal Palace are preparing for their second FA Cup semi-final in four seasons hoping to banish the memory of their 2-0 loss to Chelsea at this stage in 2021/22. They would have liked to be carrying better form into this clash with Aston Villa, with Palace winning just one of their six games (D3, L2) since their quarter-final win against Fulham, but they do at least boast a good recent H2H record having lost none of their last four meetings (W3, D1).[/p]

[p]Manager Oliver Glasner will therefore hope that a switch in competition will bring out the best in the Eagles, who warmed up for this clash by scoring late to draw 2-2 with Arsenal in midweek. They’ll need more of those battling qualities if they’re to reach just a third-ever FA Cup final, and having never previously won this competition, Glasner’s men know they could become history makers this season.[/p]

[p]Following Villa’s UEFA Champions League exit, this competition is their last remaining opportunity for a trophy this term and they’ve already dispatched two Premier League teams (Tottenham and West Ham) to get this far. After then beating Championship sides Cardiff and Preston without conceding to reach the final four, Unai Emery’s side may feel they are in touching distance of reaching a first FA Cup final since 2014/15.[/p]

[p]Villa also come into this clash on the back of failing to win in midweek, falling 2-1 at the hands of Manchester City on Tuesday, a result which harmed their hopes of a top-five finish in the Premier League. But as the seven-time winners of this competition had won ten of their 11 prior games, confidence won’t be in short supply as they seek a first win against Palace since September 2023.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Both of Eddie Nketiah’s last two goals for Crystal Palace completed the scoring in FA Cup games and his one before that was the final goal in February’s 4-1 win against Villa at Selhurst Park. Morgan Rogers completed Villa’s scoring in both of their FA Cup ties against Premier League opponents this term and he’s contributed two assists across his last four competitive appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Palace led all four of their FA Cup games this term at half-time.[/p]
