Fiorentina vs Empoli prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-04-26 13:00.
[p]Fiorentina are on the cusp of the European places in Serie A, but although a clash with relegation-threatened Empoli may seem favourable on paper, the fact this is a Derby Arno means it’s unlikely to be quite so straightforward. Raffaele Palladino’s men are eight games unbeaten across all competitions though (W5, D3), with their latest win in midweek seeing them recover from 1-0 down to defeat Cagliari 2-1. [/p]
[p]Fiorentina would be wise not to underestimate Empoli, particularly after they dumped them out of the Coppa Italia in December. That extended La Viola’s winless H2H run to six matches (D4, L2), but they’ll hope to snap that streak here, and four successive Serie A home clean sheets gives them a solid foundation upon which they can build.[/p]
[p]Empoli come into this round a point adrift of safety in 19th place having incredibly not won any of their last 18 league games (D6, L12). Their latest frustrating Serie A result saw them squander a 1-0 lead against fellow relegation candidates Venezia to ultimately draw 2-2, although they did at least score twice in the competition for the first time in 2025![/p]
[p]Their Coppa Italia dream came to an abrupt halt in midweek when they were dumped out at the semi-final stage by Bologna, although that does mean they can now focus all of their efforts on surviving. Encouragingly, they did win this corresponding fixture 2-0 last term, but seeing they haven’t shut out an opponent on the road since September, a repeat scoreline seems unlikely.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Robin Gosens got Fiorentina’s equaliser at Cagliari on Wednesday, in what was his sixth goal involvement in his last seven appearances (G3, A3), while he also got an assist in that Coppa Italia exit to Empoli four months ago. In that fixture, Sebastiano Esposito levelled the scores in normal time and then netted the winning penalty in the shootout that day, which will perhaps inspire hope he can end his 14-match scoring drought at club level. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Fiorentina have scored before half-time in seven of their last eight matches. [/p]
