Sevilla Leganes prediction 2025-05-04

Sevilla vs Leganes prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-03 14:15.
[p]Sevilla’s winless La Liga run stretched to six matches (D1, L5) with a 1-0 loss at Osasuna that interim manager Joaquín Caparrós believes was not a fair reflection of their effort. The first-half sending-off of their top scorer this season, Dodi Lukébakio, hindered their efforts to get back level in that game, but his red card has at least been rescinded since so he will be available here.[/p]

[p]That’s a timely boost for Sevilla, who are not yet safe from relegation, as they only have a five-point cushion over 18th-placed Las Palmas ahead of this round. Taking another step towards survival is far from guaranteed at home given they are the only side not to have won a single La Liga home game in 2025 (D4, L3). They failed to defeat fellow bottom-half clubs Valencia, Espanyol and Alavés (all 1-1) in that time, so a visit from 19th-placed Leganés doesn’t guarantee any respite. [/p]

[p]Leganés are holding on for dear life after a seven-match winless league run has left them four points from safety heading into the weekend. They too had to fight hard with ten men last Thursday, losing Seydouba Cissé inside 20 minutes but still grinding out a potentially crucial 1-1 draw at home to Girona, prompting boss Borja Jiménez to declare that his team must win in Seville. [/p]

[p]One disadvantage that Los Pepineros have compared to their immediate relegation rivals is that three of their five remaining games this campaign have to be played away from home, and they currently possess the joint second-lowest La Liga points tally on their travels pre-round (W1, D8, L7). Interestingly, six of those eight draws came against clubs currently higher than Sevilla in the table, so Leganés should at least hold belief they can at least earn a point on Sunday.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Peque scored Sevilla’s only goal in their last home game, and although that arrived in the 12th minute, four of his six club goals prior arrived after the hour mark. Three of Juan Cruz’s last four goalscoring appearances came on the road, with the 25-year-old scoring between the 35th and 60th minutes on all four occasions. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: All 16 league games involving either Sevilla or Leganés in March and April were drawn or decided by a one-goal margin. [/p]
