Atl. Madrid Real Sociedad prediction 2025-05-10

Atl. Madrid vs Real Sociedad prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-09 19:00.
[p]Atlético Madrid’s season is ending with something of a whimper, as a 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened Alavés last week made it one win from three matches (D1, L1). Holding onto third place is their priority between now and the end of the campaign, and there’s no better place to get those aims back on track than home soil at the Metropolitano, where only Barcelona have beaten them in La Liga this term (W12, D4).[/p]

[p]Next up for Diego Simeone’s men is the visit of a Real Sociedad side they were last beaten by in the league back in September 2019 (W6, D4). That’s Atleti’s longest unbeaten H2H run in La Liga since 1976, and it gets even more dominant when only considering games on home soil, where the Mattress Makers were last beaten by La Real in March 2013 (W9, D2).[/p]

[p]Sociedad have conceded exactly twice in six of their last seven trips to face Atlético, and that hardly bodes well considering that they’ve failed to even score in three of their last four La Liga matches (D2, L2). Their most recent blank came in the Basque derby against Athletic Club last week (D 0-0), with that result leaving them three points shy of the top seven pre-round.[/p]

[p]Departing manager Imanol Alguacil will be determined to provide another European qualification as a parting gift, and Sociedad’s form in the Spanish capital indicates they still have a fighting chance. The visitors have avoided defeat in each of their last five league visits to face sides from the Community of Madrid (W1, D4), including all three this season (W1, D2).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: In-form Atletico striker Julián Alvarez has scored four times in his last five matches, and was on target in the first minute of the reverse fixture (D 1-1). Mikel Oyarzabal assisted Sociedad’s equaliser that day, and he’s encouragingly scored each of his last five goals for the club in away matches.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Sociedad are the only side yet to concede a La Liga away goal after the 75th minute this season.[/p]
