St. Pauli Bochum prediction 2025-05-17

St. Pauli vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-05-16 13:30.
[p]The last round of the Bundesliga season sees St Pauli face an already-relegated Bochum trying to preserve their own top-flight status. St Pauli only need a point to confirm their spot in next season’s Bundesliga, but they probably won’t even need that considering they sit three points above 16th-placed Heidenheim and are also a whopping 13 goals better off in the goal difference chart. [/p]

[p]Stretching their five-match unbeaten home H2H run in the Bundesliga (W3, D2) would ensure it doesn’t come down to goal difference. That streak arguably faces its toughest test yet on the final day, not because of the opposition, but because of when the game falls. St Pauli have lost their last six final-day Bundesliga games and no side in history have ever lost seven such games in a row![/p]

[p]With a bottom-place finish all but confirmed for Bochum, all that’s left for them to do on the final day is salvage a crumb of pride. They too have a negative record that they’ll be desperate to avoid, as having already lost a club-record equalling 21 games this season, another defeat would see them hit a new low in a campaign they’ll be desperate to see come to an end.[/p]

[p]It’s easy to see why Bochum find themselves in this predicament, holding both the second worst attack and defence in the league. They’ve shown few signs of turning that around in the closing stages of the season as they arrive here on the back of eight winless Bundesliga games (D2, L6), but boss Dieter Hecking winning four of his eight managerial H2Hs with St Pauli (L4) at least offers them a glimmer of hope of bowing out on a high note.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Grabbing both a goal and assist last time out means that Morgan Guilavogui is the player involved in the most league goals for St Pauli in 2024/25 (G6, A2). Scorer of a goal in that famous 3-2 away victory over Bayern Munich in March, Matúš Bero has closed the scoring with four of his six career Bundesliga goals. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: No Bundesliga side has conceded more second-half league goals than Bochum this season. [/p]
