Verona Como prediction 2025-05-18

Verona vs Como prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-05-17 18:45.
[p]Despite a seven-match winless run (D4, L3), Hellas Verona remain on the verge of securing their top-flight status. The Mastiffs boast a five-point gap to the relegation zone with just two matches left to play, but face the considerable challenge of an in-form Como side in their penultimate outing of the campaign, with the hosts’ chances not helped by a dismal return of one win from their last 12 home league games (D4, L7).[/p]

[p]That sequence includes eight scoring blanks, so it’s no surprise that only the bottom four have netted fewer than their 31 goals this term. They did at least get a goal last Sunday in a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Lecce, but as they’ve now failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four matches, improvements up front may be needed for a positive result here.[/p]

[p]Como continue to make history in Serie A, as last week they became just the second promoted side in the division’s history to win six successive matches. Lazio’s run of eight set back in 1973 may now be their target before the end of the season, but Cesc Fàbregas’ men face a tough final fixture against title-chasing Inter next week, so they’re likely to be content with another win that would guarantee a top-half finish.[/p]

[p]It has been an incredible turnaround from Como, who languished down in 16th place as recently as the end of round 24. They’re chasing a first-ever league double over Verona in the top flight after winning the reverse fixture 3-2, but they’ve shown patchy form on the road against sides starting this round beneath them, recording three wins, draws and losses against such opposition in away matches.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Verona centre-back Diego Coppola’s four career goals have all been headers, including one against Lecce last week. He’ll be kept busy by Como striker Patrick Cutrone, who was also on the scoresheet last weekend with his fourth successive goal to arrive between the 70th and 80th minute.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Como have not trailed at half-time in any of their last 13 games.[/p]
