Mallorca Getafe prediction 2025-05-18

Mallorca vs Getafe prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-17 17:00.
[p]A run of three defeats in four matches (W1) means Mallorca need favours from elsewhere if they are to play European football for the first time since 2003/04. A 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in midweek has left the Pirates tenth in La Liga and with a one-point gap to make up on two teams directly above them, including Rayo Vallecano, who they play in their final match of the season.[/p]

[p]They face Getafe in their penultimate game of the season, and a run of one defeat in seven on home soil (W3, D3) gives reason for supporters to believe they can round off their home campaign in style. That record would probably look a lot better had they kept more than just one clean sheet across their last 12 home league outings, with Mallorca conceding exactly once in nine of those games. [/p]

[p]Getafe perhaps make for an ideal opponent then, given they are on a miserable run of six successive defeats, failing to score in each of the last five. The most recent of those was a 2-0 reversal to Athletic Bilbao in midweek, a result which not only means Azulones have gone over eight hours without scoring, but are also still not quite sure of their place in the top flight for 2025/26, as they enter this round five points above the bottom three.[/p]

[p]The pressure is therefore mounting on manager José Bordalás, who admits his team have conceded “some inexplicable goals” over the last few weeks, with six of the last eight goals they’ve leaked coming before half-time. Getafe do have an impressive record in away H2Hs to cling on to though, having lost on just one of their last seven trips to Mallorca (W3, D3).[/p]

[p]Key battle: Mallorca’s Cyle Larin has netted first or last in eight of his last nine goalscoring appearances, including against Getafe in December. He will have to get past visiting goalkeeper David Soria, who has impressively not conceded a goal six of the last eight times he’s faced Mallorca.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Ahead of this round, only Real Valladolid (9) have scored fewer first-half goals than Getafe (11) in La Liga this season.[/p]
