Espanyol Las Palmas prediction 2025-05-24

Espanyol vs Las Palmas prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-23 16:30.
[p]Preparing for the biggest game of their season, Espanyol face already-relegated Las Palmas trying to save their own top-flight status. There will be plenty of nervous fans inside their RCDE Stadium as Espanyol are winless in their last six league outings, having lost five La Liga games on the bounce for the first time since the 2022/23 campaign, when they also suffered their last relegation![/p]

[p]Sat two points clear of 18th-placed Leganés, but with an inferior H2H record, Espanyol know that only a win here will be enough to confirm their top-flight status without worrying about Leganés’ result against rock-bottom Valladolid. Espanyol will be keen to leave nothing to chance, and having won six of the last seven home league H2Hs (D1), they perhaps couldn’t have chosen a better opponent in what feels like a must-win game. [/p]

[p]The hosts will be hoping that Las Palmas arrive with the attitude of a team with nothing to play for, particularly as they are also on a five-game La Liga losing streak for the first time since the back end of last season. Their La Liga form in 2025 has been dire and explains why they’ll be playing in the second tier next season (W2, D4, L13), while a mere one clean sheet across those 19 games highlights their defensive ineptitude.[/p]

[p]Hitting the road is unlikely to stimulate a response, with only their opponents here (13) and basement boys Valladolid (17) suffering more away league defeats than Las Palmas (11) this season. Four of those defeats have come against sides starting this round 14th or lower, and incredibly they are yet to beat such a team in away league action this season (D1, L4). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Espanyol’s Javi Puado will be looking to add to his 11 league goals this term – three of his last four have arrived from the penalty spot in the second half. Also scoring from 12 yards in the last game that Las Palmas managed a goal, Sandro RamĂrez struck the H2H winner in the reverse fixture. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Espanyol have scored first in eight of their last ten home league games (W3, D5, L2). [/p]
