Seattle Sounders Atl. Madrid prediction 2025-06-19

Seattle Sounders vs Atl. Madrid prediction: WORLD: FIFA Club World Cup betting tips on match 2025-06-19 22:00.
[p]The second matchday of the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) takes on increased importance for Seattle Sounders and Atlético Madrid after both sides suffered defeats in their opening Group B games. [/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Three straight losses in all competitions spells danger for the Sounders, who were defeated 2-1 by Botafogo on matchday one in a game which likely represented their best chance of earning a win in this group. There is now a mountain for them to climb, and despite having lost just one home encounter domestically this season, they have now suffered back-to-back defeats at Lumen Field, and now risk losing three straight home matches for the first time since March 2011.   [/p]

[p]Atlético arrive wounded after suffering a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of European champions PSG in CWC action on Sunday. Boss Diego Simeone pointed to financial reasons for his side’s hefty defeat after that defeat, but he won’t have that excuse here as his side boast an embarrassment of riches compared to Seattle. After a campaign of near misses, the Spanish giants know that avoiding a third defeat in five games (W2) is vital if they are to be in serious contention for a first trophy of the season at their maiden CWC. [/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]Although this is a first-ever H2H meeting, it will be the seventh time a North American side have met a Spanish team in the CWC, with the Spaniards coming out on top on the last five occasions. [/p]

[p]Seattle lost their only previous outing against a club from outside the Americas.[/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Seattle Sounders have conceded 2+ goals in their last three matches.[/p]

[p]Four of the Sounders’ last five games saw a goal arrive on or beyond the 75th minute.[/p]

[p]Atlético have triumphed in eight of their last nine meetings against teams they have met for the first time (L1). [/p]

[p]Only one of Atlético’s last eight games saw both teams score.[/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Cristian Roldan was directly involved in six goals when the Sounders won the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2022 and struck his first-ever goal for the club in the CWC last time out. Antoine Griezmann was previously linked with a move to the MLS this summer, but with that on the backburner for now, he will be looking to end a 17-game goal drought – he’s netted the second goal of the game in four of his last five scoring outings. [/p]

[p]Both squads are in good health, although Diego Simeone will be without defender Clément Lenglet after he was sent off in their loss to PSG. [/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]

[p]With three of Atleti’s last four victories having been accompanied by a clean sheet, an Atlético win and both teams not to score may be a smart bet here.[/p]
