Denmark W Sweden W prediction 2025-07-04

Denmark W vs Sweden W prediction: EUROPE: Euro Women betting tips on match 2025-07-03 16:00.
[p]Denmark take on Sweden to open up their UEFA European Women’s Championship Group C campaign just a month after being thrashed 6-1 by their rivals in the Nations League. [/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Since making the final of the 2017 edition, Denmark haven’t made the expected progression and failed to make it past the group stage in 2021. They impressed in Euros qualifying however (W4, L2), finishing runners up in Group A2 behind Spain, who they came close to beating, eventually losing 3-2. This will be a strange tournament for Swedish coach Andrée Jeglertz, who will be taking charge of his first, and last, major tournament as coach before departing later this summer. [/p]

[p]World #6-ranked Sweden were Euros champions back in 1984, and having reached the semi-finals in 2022, they’ll be searching for glory once again. History is on their side to do well here as every time they’ve qualified for a Euros finals, they’ve gone on to reach the knockout stages. Interestingly, this is also a last major tournament for Sweden coach Peter Gerhardsson, whose side are unbeaten in 12 games ahead of this game (W8, D4). [/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]Aside from the drubbing Denmark received at the start of June, these sides have met over 20 times. Sweden have won the last three competitive H2Hs, while the last meeting between the sides at the Euros ended in a 1-1 draw in the group stages of the 2013 edition.[/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Only once this year have Denmark scored more than twice in a game (W3, L3).[/p]

[p]Denmark’s 6-1 H2H loss last month was their biggest margin of defeat against any opponent since 2012. [/p]

[p]Sweden have conceded one goal or fewer in 11 of their last 12 outings. [/p]

[p]Sweden have scored 5+ goals on five occasions since the start of 2024.  [/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Pernille Harder is Denmark’s all-time leading goal scorer with 78 goals in 162 caps, and she scored the winner in her last international appearance back in May. Striking her 36th international goal just over a week ago, Stina Blackstenius could be the key to ending a 41-year Swedish drought in this tournament – she’s scored four times in her last two international games and netted the winning goal in the UEFA Champions League final in May. [/p]

[p]Both teams are in good shape injury wise, but Swedish fans will be sweating on the fitness of Barcelona star Fridolina Rolfö, who went off injured in June’s H2H. [/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]

[p]Given their tournament pedigree, as well as the psychological advantage of a huge H2H win just last month, a handsome Swedish win by a margin of 3+ goals could be a profitable bet here. [/p]
