FC Copenhagen (Den) Malmo FF (Swe) prediction 2025-08-12

FC Copenhagen (Den) vs Malmo FF (Swe) prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Qualification betting tips on match 2025-08-11 17:00.
[p]After a 0-0 draw in Sweden last week, it is all to play for as FC Copenhagen host Malmö in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) third qualifying round tie.[/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]After they opened their campaign with three successive league wins, Copenhagen’s form has fallen away. Following that goalless stalemate on the other side of the Oresund, Jacob Neestrup’s side suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Aarhus that ended a near-perfect unbeaten league run stretching back to mid-April (W8, D1). History suggests the Lions should bounce back here after they progressed from seven of their last eight European third qualifying round ties, most recently advancing to the UCL’s round of 16 in 2023/24.[/p]

[p]The visitors have a similarly impressive record, having been knocked out at this stage of the UCL just once in the last 20 years. Henrik Rydström’s men are also on a run of four successive away victories, their longest such streak on the road since April 2024, which includes a come-from-behind 3-2 success over Brommapojkarna. Malmö will hope that they can keep that form going, especially after a damaging 3-1 defeat at home to Mjällby at the weekend that may have killed off their hopes of a third successive Allsvenskan title.[/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]It takes little more than one hour to drive from Copenhagen to Malmö, but international borders mean these two bitter rivals have met just three times competitively in their history. The Swedish outfit have had the wood over their Danish opponents by going unbeaten in those games (W1, D2), with the solitary victory coming at Parken Stadium in a UEFA Europa League tie in 2019.[/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Copenhagen scored at least once in their last 14 UEFA home games (W7, D2, L5).[/p]

[p]Only two of Copenhagen’s last ten outings across all competitions saw both teams score.[/p]

[p]Malmö conceded at least one goal in each of their last 14 UCL games.[/p]

[p]The Swedish side scored at least twice in each of their four consecutive competitive away wins.[/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Sweden international Jordan Larsson has faced Malmö more than any other team in his career, and Copenhagen fans will be pleased to know just one of his five home games against them has ended in defeat (W3, D1). The visitors will be hoping Sead Hakšabanović is on target, as he has come out on top in the last dozen games in which he has scored.[/p]

[p]Copenhagen look set to be without Elias Achouri, who limped off against Aarhus, while long-term absentee Erik Botheim will be missing for Malmö.[/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]

[p]All the statistics point towards this game providing more entertainment than the first leg, so both teams to score might be worth an investment.[/p]
