Tanzania vs Tunisia prediction: AFRICA: Africa Cup of Nations betting tips on match 2025-12-29 16:00.
[p]The fight for second place in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has reached boiling point as Tanzania and Tunisia battle for the right to potentially advance automatically to the last 16.[/p]
[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]
[p]After beginning the tournament with a 2-1 defeat to group favourites Nigeria, Tanzania have given themselves hope of progression after a 1-1 draw with Uganda on Saturday. That leaves them on just one point after two group matches, which does not sound that impressive, but a win over Tunisia should see them progress to the AFCON knockout rounds for the first time in their history, while a draw may still be enough for them to advance as one of the better third-placed teams. Winning is not something that the Taifa Stars have done a lot of lately though, as they are without a victory in nine games now (D3, L6).[/p]
[p]After failing to progress from the group phase in the 2023 edition, 2004 champions Tunisia simply have to avoid defeat here to make the last 16 after a 3-1 win over Uganda and a 3-2 loss to Nigeria. This is their 17th consecutive AFCON, meaning that they have plenty of experience to draw on to see themselves through, with that loss to Nigeria being only their second defeat in 11 matches across all internationals (W6, D3). It is unlikely to be plain sailing for the Eagles of Carthage though, as just two of their last nine games have been decided by a margin of 2+ goals.[/p]
[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]
[p]These two sides have met just twice before, with Tunisia registering a 1-0 win in November 2020 before drawing the second encounter 1-1 only four days later. [/p]
[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]
[p]Seven of Tanzania’s last nine matches have produced fewer than 2.5 goals.[/p]
[p]The second half has been the highest-scoring half in seven of Tanzania’s last eight games. [/p]
[p]Seven of Tunisia’s last nine games have seen both teams score.[/p]
[p]There have been six goals after the 80th minute in Tunisia’s last five matches.[/p]
[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]
[p]Tanzania’s Simon Msuva converted a penalty against Uganda at the weekend – the 11th time in his last 12 international goalscoring appearances that the final score has either been 1-1 or 1-0. Tunisia will be hoping that Ellyes Skhiri has his shooting boots on – just as he did against Uganda on matchday one – having now seen all four of his goals for his country coincide with a victory. [/p]
[p]Tanzania seemingly have no fresh absentees, while Tunisia could be without Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane for this fixture after he went off injured against Nigeria. [/p]
