Mozambique Cameroon prediction 2025-12-31

Mozambique vs Cameroon prediction: AFRICA: Africa Cup of Nations betting tips on match 2025-12-30 19:00.
[p]Mozambique aim to create more history when they face Cameroon in a tantalising Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) battle for a top-two finish in Group F.[/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Mozambique come into this clash on a high after claiming their first-ever victory at an AFCON finals by beating Gabon 3-2 on Sunday. Chiquinho Conde’s side are in a prime position to reach the last 16 for the first time as one of the pre-round best third-placed teams, but could still gatecrash the top two by winning in Agadir, and potentially land a more favourable draw in the next round. The job isn’t done yet though, and with Mozambique failing to win back-to-back games since June 2024, the Mambas will be taking nothing for granted here.[/p]

[p]Expectations are much higher for Cameroon, who know that merely avoiding defeat will cement their place in the top two. The Indomitable Lions are chasing down a sixth AFCON title, but have been rather toothless in attack after registering just two shots on target in a 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast on Sunday, following on from an unconvincing 1-0 win over Gabon. But a slow start is nothing new for Cameroon, who won only one of their three group games at the 2017 edition before going on to lift the trophy, which could serve as a lucky omen if they don’t win here and still progress.[/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]Mozambique won the first meeting between the two sides back in 1983, but have since lost all seven of the subsequent H2Hs.[/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Eight of Mozambique’s previous ten AFCON games produced over 2.5 goals.[/p]

[p]Only one of Mozambique’s last nine goals came before the 15th minute.[/p]

[p]Cameroon have scored 2+ goals in five of the last six H2Hs.[/p]

[p]Just one of Cameroon’s previous seven games saw both teams score.[/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Geny Catamo scored for Mozambique from the penalty spot on Sunday, and five of his last six international goals have come before the hour mark. Karl Etta Eyong netted his first Cameroon goal in their 2025 AFCON opener against Gabon, and has only been on the losing side once in his last ten goalscoring appearances for club and country (W6, D3). [/p]

[p]Mozambique appear to have no fresh injury concerns after Sunday’s match, while Cameroon’s Junior Tchamadeu serves a suspension. [/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]

[p]It’s hard to bet against the Indomitable Lions getting the victory here, so backing Cameroon to win by a -1 handicap seems sensible. [/p]
