Morocco vs Tanzania prediction: AFRICA: Africa Cup of Nations – Play Offs betting tips on match 2026-01-03 16:00.
[p]2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hosts and Group A winners Morocco will host Tanzania, who picked up only two points in Group C, in the Round of 16 on Sunday.[/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Title favourites Morocco have now qualified for the knockout stage of five consecutive AFCONs and will be pursuing their first semi-finals appearance in that time. The hosts made light work of Group A by beating Comoros and Zambia to zero while drawing with second-placed Mali, maintaining the Atlas Lions’ brilliant run of form which has seen them go unbeaten for 20 consecutive matches (W18, D2). Playing at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium for the fourth successive game in this tournament, Walid Regragui’s side will once again be in familiar surroundings as they target a third quarter-final appearance from their last five AFCONs.[/p]

[p]Tanzania completed the group stage as one of only two teams remaining in the competition who are yet to pick up a victory, and although they have drawn four of their last five AFCON fixtures, their decades-long wait for their inaugural AFCON win continues (D5, L7). The Taifa Stars went down 2-1 in their opener against Nigeria before back-to-back 1-1 draws with Uganda and Tunisia saw them sneak through to the last 16 for the first time after finishing third in the group. Tanzania have now played ten consecutive games without a victory (D4, L6), although their switch to new Argentine boss Miguel Ángel Gamondi in November has at least seen them end a run of five successive defeats with the last two results.[/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]Morocco have won seven of the eight H2Hs (L1) including the last five, with the last four victories all accompanied by a clean sheet.[/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Morocco have not conceded a first half goal in any of their last 15 matches.[/p]

[p]Morocco picked up a first-half yellow card in only one of their last four games.[/p]

[p]Tanzania have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last nine games.[/p]

[p]All three of Tanzania’s goals in this AFCON have come after half-time.[/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Azzedine Ounahi got two assists in Morocco’s final group stage game and also scored during the last AFCON H2H two years ago. Novatus Miroshi has provided two assists in the tournament with both coming within the first five minutes of the second half.[/p]

[p]Both teams have no new availability issues while Morocco striker Hamza Igamane is available after missing the group stage through injury.[/p]
