Aberdeen vs PAOK prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-10-25 19:00.
With their match against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership postponed at the weekend due to bad weather, Aberdeen head into this all-important UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) matchday three fixture having not played a competitive match since October 8. That long lay-off could seriously hinder the home side here, especially as they’ve failed to win either of their two UECL outings (D1, L1) during their first major European competition group stage appearance since 2007/08.
After winning just one of their opening nine competitive matches to start this campaign (D3, L5), Aberdeen have at least rallied since to go unbeaten across their last five (W3, D2). That turn of form has been particularly helped by their recent defensive improvements, conceding just three times in that stint, which bodes well as they go in search of a first competitive win against Greek opposition here at Pittodrie.
Unlike their hosts in this clash, visiting PAOK have enjoyed an impressive start to their own campaign which sees them currently sit third in the Greek Super League and atop the UECL Group G standings after two matches. They claimed Eintracht Frankfurt’s scalp on matchday two in this competition, winning 2-1 thanks to a 92nd-minute winner which in turn helped them to keep their 100% winning record in the group stage.
The visitors continue to somewhat struggle on the road this season however, as seen by the fact that three of their five non-winning results overall have come away from home (D2, L1). They’ve also failed to keep a clean sheet in their prior five away competitive outings, but the first of those results did see them beat Hearts 2-1 in Edinburgh, so a return to Scotland could prove timely.
Players to watch: Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski has eight goals in 14 competitive matches this season, with five of the last six coming after half-time. Similarly, Andrija Živković also has eight goals this campaign for PAOK, with seven coming after the interval.
Hot stat: PAOK have scored 2+ goals in each of their last six competitive matches.
