AC Milan Dortmund prediction 2023-11-28

AC Milan vs Dortmund prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-11-27 20:00.
AC Milanā€™s 1-0 win over Fiorentina at the weekend was overshadowed by boss Stefano Pioliā€™s incredible show of faith to hand 15-year-old Francesco Camarda his debut, as he became the youngest ever Serie A player. Itā€™s unlikely heā€™ll see youth as the way forward in this UEFA Champions League (UCL) crunch clash against Borussia Dortmund though, with Milan knowing that defeat here could see them expelled from the competition depending on PSGā€™s result against Newcastle.

The only-ever Italian side to win the European title more than once in the UCL era, it would be a travesty for Milan to fall at the first hurdle, but given their strong home record against German opposition (W12, D4, L2), they should be confident of taking it to the final matchday. Interestingly, their last three home games against Bundesliga clubs have ended 2-2, and thereā€™s added incentive for Piolo to end that run of draws here, as he seeks successive UCL wins for only the second time in his managerial career.

Dortmund are far better placed than Milan to book their spot in the last 16, as a pair of victories ā€˜to nilā€™ against Newcastle see them come into matchday five top of Group F. They too secured a domestic victory at the weekend, but that had to do it the hard way to beat Borussia Mƶnchengladbach, overturning a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2, although they still sit ten points off the pace in the Bundesliga title race.

Boss Edin Terzić claimed afterwards that itā€™s ā€œnever boringā€ with his side, but while that may be the case domestically, in the UCL itā€™s a slightly different story. None of Dortmundā€™s last six UCL games have seen both teams score, or even witness more than two goals, and such a record must leave Terzić concerned his side could fall on the wrong side of small margins given theyā€™ve lost four of their last five matches in Italy (D1).

Players to watch: Theo HernĆ”ndez was Milanā€™s hero at the weekend, and itā€™s usually a late-late show where heā€™s concerned, with three of his last four goals arriving in either first or second half stoppage-time. In red-hot form at the moment, Dortmundā€™s Niclas FĆ¼llkrug has scored in three successive club appearances, with each goal coming before half-time.

Hot stat: Only one of Milanā€™s last 11 UCL games has been won by the designated away side.
