AC Milan Lazio prediction 2025-03-02

AC Milan vs Lazio prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-03-01 19:45.
[p]AC Milan’s European ambitions were dealt a crushing blow in midweek, with their 2-1 defeat to rivals Bologna meaning they come into this round three points adrift of sixth – the last European place. A Lazio side starting the round in fifth are next up, with the Milan giants looking to snap their two-match losing league run while also trying to avoid losing three Serie A games in a row for the first time since February 2023. [/p]

[p]Lazio are probably an ideal opponent for Milan, considering they have won six of the last eight H2Hs (D1, L1), while they’ve won the last five meetings at the San Siro. Milan haven’t been quite as imperious at home lately in league action, as despite the fact they’re unbeaten in eight Serie A home games, they’ve only won three of them (D5). Winning one league game this season against sides starting this round above them (D3, L5) will also be of great concern. [/p]

[p]The White and Sky Blues fall into that category as they try to keep pace with fourth-place Juventus in a bid to get back into the UEFA Champions League. The capital club were dining out at Europe’s top table as recently as last season and they have two possible routes into the competition this season – either by their league standing or by winning the UEFA Europa League. [/p]

[p]Their European quest resumes with a last-16 tie against Viktoria Plzeň in the days after this clash, which could serve as a distraction. An away game seems to bring the best out of them at least, as they’ve won six of their last nine league road trips (D1, L2), but with four defeats from five such games against sides starting this round in the top half, there is reason to travel with caution. A 2-0 defeat on this ground by Inter in midweek Coppa Italia action only highlights their difficulties on the road against the better teams. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Milan’s Rafael Leão was on target in midweek with his fourth game-opening goal from his last five, but incredibly he hasn’t netted at home in Serie A all season. Pedro’s impact tends to grow as the game goes on, with five of his last six Lazio goals arriving after half-time.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only one of Lazio’s six away games in 2025 saw both teams score. [/p]
