AC Milan Torino prediction 2023-08-26

AC Milan vs Torino prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-08-25 18:45.
AC Milan’s bid to mount another title challenge, having finished fourth one season after winning their first Serie A (SA) crown since 2010/11, got off to the perfect start as they beat Bologna 2-0 on the opening day. The Rossoneri completed the scoring inside the opening 25 minutes as Stefano Pioli’s new-look side made a strong start with summer signing Christian Pulisic on the scoresheet.

Another clean sheet wouldn’t surprise as they haven’t conceded at home against Torino in SA since August 2016 (W4, D2), and haven’t lost a home league game since January (W6, D3). That run includes a 1-0 H2H victory in February, so they’ll be odds-on favourites to win their opening home league game of the season for the 11th season in a row – the last two saw them score four times.

Torino are up against it then and they’ll be seeking a reaction after being disappointed to only draw 0-0 with newly-promoted Cagliari in their SA opener. Croatian manager Ivan Jurić completed permanent deals for countryman Nikola Vlaơić and Serbian Ivan Ilić this summer and started both, but their bid to improve on two consecutive tenth-place finishes made a faltering start.

Last term they gained more SA points on the road (31) than they did at home (22) and actually won their last four league away games ‘to nil’ after leading 1-0 at half-time – they haven’t lost one since February (W5, D1). But the San Siro remains a problematic destination for the Maroons as they’ve lost their last eight league visits here against Milan or Inter.

Players to watch: Olivier Giroud’s strike against Bologna was his first with his right foot for Milan – the other 32 came via his left foot (24) or his head (eight). Vlaơić registered five goals on loan with Torino last term and four of them contributed to match victories, two of which came away from home after he opened the scoring.

Hot streak: Each of the last six SA H2Hs here produced under 2.5 goals (Milan: W4, D2)
