AEK Larnaca vs Aberdeen prediction: EUROPE: Conference League – League phase betting tips on match 2025-11-05 17:45.
[p]High-flying AEK Larnaca will be looking to continue their perfect start to this UEFA Conference League campaign when they host rock-bottom Aberdeen.[/p]
[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]
[p]AEK Larnaca have arguably been the competition’s surprise package, thrashing AZ 4-0 before pulling off a huge upset to win 1-0 away at Crystal Palace to leave them second behind only Italian giants Fiorentina. Imanol Idiakez’s men kept the good times rolling by beating Champions League participants Pafos in midweek to lift the Cypriot Super Cup before coming from behind to win in league action at the weekend. Having never previously progressed beyond a European group/league phase, they’ll be all too aware that another win almost guarantees a place in the knockout rounds, and with four wins from five European home games this season (L1), few would bet against them here. [/p]
[p]That owes partly to the miserable start made by Aberdeen, who’ve conceded a competition-high nine goals across defeats to Shakhtar Donetsk (3-2) and AEK Athens (6-0) and sit at the foot of the table as a result. Languishing in ninth domestically, the Dons have won just four of their 16 matches across all competitions this season (D2, L10), but confidence can at least be found from three of those four successes coming on the road, one of which came at the weekend against Kilmarnock (1-0).[/p]
[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]
[p]Larnaca have never previously faced a Scottish side, while this will be Aberdeen’s fifth meeting with Cypriot opposition (W3, L1). That sole defeat came in their last such match though, a 2-0 reverse away at Apollon Limassol in 2017/18 Europa League qualifying.[/p]
[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]
[p]Four of AEK Larnaca’s five Conference League goals this term came after half-time.[/p]
[p]Six of Larnaca’s nine home games this term produced over 2.5 goals.[/p]
[p]Just two of Aberdeen’s last 12 games saw both teams score.[/p]
[p]None of Aberdeen’s last 12 away matches ended level (W4, L8).[/p]
[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]
[p]Having missed the latter half of their qualifying campaign, Marcus RohdĂ©n is making up for lost time with a goal involvement in both of Larnaca’s Conference League games so far (G1, A1) – each of his last four strikes arrived after half-time. Young forward Marko Lazetić will lead the Aberdeen charge after directly contributing to four goals (G2, A2) and receiving three yellow cards across his last six games for them.[/p]
[p]Yerson Chacón looks to be sidelined for the hosts, while Aberdeen don’t appear to have any fresh injury concerns.[/p]

[p]Betting Analysis[/p]
[p]The form book appears to only point one way, and given the quality of attacks they’ve already shut out in this competition, backing Larnaca to win without conceding looks the route to take.[/p]
