Alaves Las Palmas prediction 2024-09-01

Alaves vs Las Palmas prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-08-31 15:00.
[p]It was a wonderful midweek round for AlavĂ©s, who travelled away from home to defeat Real Sociedad 2-1 to end a three-match winless La Liga run across two seasons (D2, L1). They will now return home to defend a five-match unbeaten streak as La Liga hosts (W3, D2)  – a run which has seen them return four clean sheets! [/p]

[p]That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody who closely followed Alavés last season, as only the league’s top five finishers won more La Liga home games than the Basque side’s nine (D4, L6). Despite that strong home form, it was an absence of goals that saw Alavés finish in a mid-table position with only four league sides scoring fewer than their 36 strikes. That was something they couldn’t remedy in their opening home game of this campaign either as they played out a goalless draw against Real Betis.[/p]

[p]Their task here looks even greater, as upcoming opponents Las Palmas will be full of confidence after holding Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening. Head coach Luis Carrión even felt that “with a little more, we could have won,” and Los Amarillos may need that little extra right away, as they look to end a nine-match winless away run in La Liga (D3, L6) where they have managed just six goals![/p]

[p]With Carrión’s side having gone goalless in five of those nine away trips, some may expect a low-scoring affair here, particularly as only relegated Cádiz (ten) and Rayo Vallecano (11) managed fewer away league goals than their paltry 13 last season. But fans eager for goals shouldn’t despair as Las Palmas have never travelled here and experienced a 0-0 draw in the history of this fixture![/p]

[p]Players to Watch: AlavĂ©s new boy Asier Villalibre got off the mark for his side’s win against Sociedad and a goal from him is usually a lucky charm given he hasn’t lost any of his last 25 scoring appearances (W19, D6) dating back to April 2019. Alberto Moleiro scored within five minutes against Real Madrid during the week and also grabbed an assist the last time Las Palmas visited AlavĂ©s![/p]

[p]Hot streak: Alavés did not concede a second-half goal in any of their last five La Liga home matches![/p]
