Angers vs Lille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-04-26 13:00.
[p]A sixth defeat in eight league matches (W1, D1) leaves Angers in the thick of a fight for top-flight survival, as they begin the round with a three-point cushion to the drop zone. Alexandre Dujeux’s men have failed to score five times in their last seven league outings, with only bottom-of-the-table Montpellier (22) netting fewer than their (29) heading into this round of fixtures.[/p]
[p]It was against Montpellier that Angers registered their only win since mid-February (2-0), with that coming in their last home outing. That served as just their fourth victory on home soil this season (D2, L9), and with the Black & Whites losing each of their prior four at Stade Raymond Kopa without scoring, home comforts are unlikely to provide much respite.[/p]
[p]That rings especially true here as Lille come to town bearing down on the top three and automatic UEFA Champions League qualification. Bruno Génésio’s men will need to secure a first set of three successive Ligue 1 victories since April 2024 to strengthen their chances of making that a reality, but a confidence-boosting 3-1 win over Auxerre last week should have them in high spirits ahead of this trip.[/p]
[p]Having lost just two of the last ten Ligue 1 H2Hs (W6, D2), Lille look set to hold up their end of the bargain, although they’ll still be wary given their recent form on the road. A 2-1 win over Toulouse on their last such outing ended a run of three successive away league defeats, while they were also beaten on their last trip to Angers two years ago (1-0).[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Angers will be hoping that Himad Abdelli has another quick start here as four of his six goals this season have come inside the opening 25 minutes. Lille will look to the talismanic Jonathan David to add to his 16 Ligue 1 goals this season – he’s closed the scoring on three of his five away league scoring appearances this season.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Lille manager Bruno Génésio has more wins against Angers (ten) than any other top-flight opponent (D2, L1).[/p]
