Angers Rennes prediction 2025-03-30

Angers vs Rennes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-03-29 15:15.
[p]March has been very disappointing so far for Angers, who have lost all three fixtures without scoring, and if that becomes four in a row on Sunday when they take on Rennes, it will be the first time they have fallen to that unwanted feat in their top-flight history! Le SCO have also had significant defensive issues this month, conceding eight times, the joint-most of any side in the division in that time ahead of the weekend.   [/p]

[p]Those problems at the back have seen Angers concede at least two goals in their last four Ligue 1 games (D1, L3), as many occasions as in their previous 13 encounters. From being in 11th position after a 1-0 win at Reims in round 22, manager Alexandre Dujeux has seen his side drop to 14th, meaning that they are only six points above the relegation play-off spot ahead of this matchday. [/p]

[p]Sitting two points above their upcoming hosts, but after losing their last two league fixtures, Rennes find themselves on 29 points – their lowest tally at this stage of a season since the 2002/03 campaign, when they ultimately finished 15th. A more worrying statistic is their 15 Ligue 1 defeats this term – a figure they have not seen in the top flight after 26 matches since 1986/87, when they suffered relegation.[/p]

[p]Nine of those losses have come in away games, with Rennes managing to avoid defeat in just three league fixtures on the road (W2, D1) so far this season. Both of those victories have come since boss Habib Beye took over in late January, and he will bring his team to Stade Raymond Kopa targeting a fifth successive H2H win over Angers at any venue – a run which includes a 2-0 triumph in mid-December.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Himad Abdelli has been on the losing side in both of his previous H2Hs, but scored two of Angers’ three goals against Saint-Étienne on matchday 23 – the last time they found the net in Ligue 1. Lorenz Assignon has contributed to at least one goal in both of Rennes’ recent away wins (G1, A2) and also scored in December against Angers.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Neither team has won a league game this season when conceding the opening goal – Angers (D4, L13), Rennes (D1, L13).[/p]
