Angers St Etienne prediction 2024-10-26

Angers vs St Etienne prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-25 15:00.
[p]The two lowest scoring sides in Ligue 1, both of whom won promotion last season, meet this weekend as Angers host Saint-Étienne. Still yet to register a victory this campaign, and in the relegation zone as a result, Angers manager Alexandre Dujeux spoke of a “touch of frustration” after seeing his side miss a penalty when 1-0 up away at Toulouse on Sunday, a game which they went on to draw 1-1.[/p]

[p]They were at least leading in that game, something which they have not experienced across their four matches at the Stade Raymond Kopa this term (D1, L3). Angers are the only side yet to win on their own turf in Ligue 1 this season, and resolving that will likely be key for their survival hopes – as would a first clean sheet since returning to the top-flight![/p]

[p]Some respite could be on the way for the hosts however, as Saint-Étienne mirror their issues on the road, with the Greens yet to lead or shut their opponents out on their travels this term (D1, L3). Having started the campaign with three successive away defeats without scoring, they at least managed to fight back from two goals down to draw against Nantes on their latest trip, following that up by beating Auxerre to lift them clear of the drop zone.[/p]

[p]They’ll now look to build on that, and recent H2H history suggests there’s every chance of them doing so having won each of their last three trips to Angers without conceding. That includes a 3-0 victory in February, and under-fire manager Olivier Dall’Oglio could certainly do with a repeat performance after a disappointing showing in defeat at Lens at the weekend in which they managed just one shot on target![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Farid El Melali has directly contributed to two goals in his last three outings (G1, A1), and is yet to lose for Angers when finding the target (W11, D2)! Mathieu Cafaro will be relishing the chance to come up against Angers again after the winger registered three assists across both H2Hs last season.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Angers have conceded before the 30th minute in each of their four home games this season.[/p]
