Angers Toulouse prediction 2025-03-02

Angers vs Toulouse prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-03-01 16:15.
[p]Angers experienced all of the emotions in a rollercoaster 3-3 draw away to Saint-Étienne last round, needing a late equaliser to secure a point despite taking an early 2-0 lead. While admitting their second half was “infuriating”, manager Alexandre Dujeux admitted that the most important thing was that his side didn’t move any closer to the bottom three. [/p]

[p]Dujeux’s side have had a mixed bag of results against current bottom-half opposition, setting up a potentially unpredictable meeting with Toulouse. There were failures to win at home to both Nantes (D 1-1) and Reims (L 3-1) earlier in the season, and a 1-1 draw with Le Havre in February. One positive they can take from the last round is that they opened the scoring in consecutive league games, and their unbeaten record (W7, D2) when striking first says they could benefit significantly from scoring first more often. [/p]

[p]While one of those two draws came in the last round, the other was in the reverse H2H when Toulouse levelled the scoring after half-time to end a three-game losing streak in this competition. That sparked an impressive run of results, and this time Toulouse will approach the contest in winning form after disposing of Le Havre in the last round (W 4-1). [/p]

[p]Manager Carles Martínez, who told Flashscore News earlier this month that the club are aiming for the European places, was overall happy with the club’s first Ligue 1 win since early January. The next challenge for a Toulouse side unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season away to the clubs starting this round beneath them in the table (W3, D1), is to extend a formidable recent record against Angers that has seen them lose just one of the last 11 H2Hs (W6, D4).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Angers captain Himad Abdelli took almost no time to make an impact upon his return, scoring the first two goals of the 3-3 draw with Saint-Étienne – he last scored in back-to-back games in May 2023. Opposing captain Vincent Sierro won on five of his last six scoring appearances, the most recent of which was in the last round. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Angers lost six of the eight Ligue 1 home games in which they started as the pre-match outsiders. [/p]
