Arsenal vs PSV prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Play Offs betting tips on match 2025-03-11 20:00.
[p]Barring an unprecedented collapse, Arsenal should take their place in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-finals for a second straight season after posting the most dominant away win in UCL knockout history with their 7-1 thrashing of PSV last week. Mikel Arteta may rest players ahead of their game against Chelsea, although they do have the possibility to become the highest-scoring English side over two UCL legs by scoring another four here. [/p]
[p]The Gunners enter this match with the chance of posting a sixth consecutive UCL victory for the first time since 2005 under Arsene Wenger. Built on strong foundations, Arsenal’s success in Europe this season has largely come from their imperious home form which has seen them win four-straight UCL matches here without conceding, a good omen as the last side to achieve five in a row were then-champions Chelsea in 2021/22. [/p]
[p]PSV have had a tough time since knocking Juventus out of the UCL, with three straight defeats seeing them exit their domestic cup, lose ground in the Eredivisie title race, while effectively being eliminated from the UCL. Restoring some confidence with a league win over the weekend, PSV would have to match their biggest ever win in the UCL proper (6-0 vs Zalgiris, 1992/93) in order to even force extra time in this encounter. [/p]
[p]Adding to the insurmountable feeling of doom is the fact that the Eindhoven outfit have conceded over two goals per game on average while keeping no clean sheets across their last 15 UCL away games. The height of PSV’s hopes could be to become the first side to win after losing the first leg by a 6+ goal margin since 1979/80, although they have failed to win 16 of their 20 European away games to English opponents (W4, D4, L12). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard has faced no side more often than his ten H2Hs against PSV, contributing to four goals against them since the start of last season (G3, A1). Formerly of Tottenham, PSV’s Ivan Perišić is yet to be on the winning side against Arsenal (D1, L4), although he did score in one of his three UCL H2Hs. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Mikel Arteta can become just the tenth boss to win 13 of his first 20 UCL matches (W12, D3, L4), seven of those nine managers have won the competition at some stage. [/p]
