AS Roma vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – League phase betting tips on match 2025-01-29 20:00.
[p]With their progression to the knockout round play-offs of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League (UEL) far from guaranteed, Roma have plenty to play for against Eintracht Frankfurt. After a 1-0 away defeat at AZ Alkmaar last week, the Giallorossi begin this final group stage round in 21st, and with the top-24 staying in the competition, the Italian side must win or else their UEL spot will be up in the air.[/p]
[p]Defeat against Alkmaar last week was their first in the UEL since Claudio Ranieri took over in mid-November (W1, D1) and he has largely had a positive impact, with his team beaten only twice from their last 11 competitive games (W7, D2), bookended by a win at Udinese at the weekend. Roma have been particularly strong at home where they are on a six match winning streak, and in Europe alone, the Italians have lost just three of their last 45 major European home games (W33, D9).[/p]
[p]Their last defeat was against German opposition though, so the Eagles, who are third in the Bundesliga and begin this UEL round in second place, should not be taken lightly. In Europe they have won five of their last six (L1), and in 2025 have four victories from their five fixtures (D1) across all competitions, with only a last minute equaliser from Hoffenheim on Sunday ending their winning streak.[/p]
[p]But Frankfurt did sell star forward Omar Marmoush, who scored in all three of their UEL away matches before Christmas, to Manchester City last week and it will be interesting to see how they fare in their first European trip without him. Fortunately for Frankfurt, most of their work is already done, as it would require a remarkable set of results to knock Dino Toppmöller’s side out of the top eight and derail their quest to lift the trophy for the second time in four seasons.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Alexis Saelemaekers has been in excellent home form of late, contributing to five goals (G3, A2) at the Stadio Olimpico in his last five starts. Can Uzun only made his European debut in October but comes into this match after making an impact in his last two UEL appearances (G1, A1).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Frankfurt have scored 2+ goals in each of their last six UEL away matches (W5, L1).[/p]
