Aston Villa Ipswich prediction 2025-02-15

Aston Villa vs Ipswich prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-02-14 15:00.
[p]With progression to the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2015 secured thanks to a 2-1 win over Tottenham, Aston Villa turn their attention to reigniting their top-four challenge in the Premier League. A three-match winless run in the top-flight (D2, L1) has left Unai Emery’s men with a six-point deficit pre-round, but they’re heavy favourites to close that gap when hosting strugglers Ipswich.[/p]

[p]Part of that stems from Villa’s imperious 11-match unbeaten run on home soil in the Premier League (W6, D5), with their only such defeat this term coming against Arsenal on matchday two in August. A return of just one loss from 14 top-flight H2Hs should reinforce the hosts’ belief (W10, D3), though Villa were upset by a side starting the day in the relegation zone in their last league match against Wolves (L 2-0), with that ending a 19-match unbeaten run against sides in the bottom-three (W13, D6).[/p]

[p]Ipswich also used the FA Cup as a reprieve from their faltering league campaign, beating Coventry 4-1 to end a run of four successive defeats. Each of those came in the Premier League, with Kieran McKenna’s men most recently losing to bottom-of-the-table Southampton, a result which left them in the drop zone and three points adrift of safety pre-round.[/p]

[p]Encouragingly for the Tractor Boys, nine of their 16 points this term have been won on the road, while on just one previous occasion have they suffered consecutive away defeats in the Premier League this season. Losing ten of their last 12 league visits to Villa Park suggests they face an uphill battle in relieving their relegation fears here though (W2). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Villa new boy Marcus Rashford has seen his four Premier League goals this season arrive against sides starting the day in 15th or lower, including one against Ipswich whilst playing for Manchester United. Ipswich’s Jack Clarke has started just one league game since early December, but two goals and an assist against Coventry at the weekend puts him firmly in the frame here as he chases a maiden Premier League goal.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Aston Villa have won four of the last six home H2Hs by a 2-1 scoreline.[/p]
