Atalanta vs Bologna prediction: ITALY: Coppa Italia betting tips on match 2025-02-03 20:00.
[p]With a two-legged semi-final against either Juventus or Lecce up for grabs, Atalanta and Bologna meet in the 2024/25 Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Tuesday evening. Beaten in the final of the tournament for the third time in six seasons last May, Gian Piero Gasperini is leading his side down a familiar path, still in the hope of emulating their sole success in the tournament from 1962/63.[/p]
[p]The two teams last met in this competition in the 2001/02 season, with La Dea progressing from the round of 16 due to the away goals rule. Securing wins of any kind has been tricky for the hosts here, as after winning 15 of 17 games across all competitions (D1, L1) from the start of October until Christmas, Atalanta have suddenly struggled to get over the line with only two victories from their last nine matches (D5, L2).[/p]
[p]Bologna are another team who have shared the spoils more often than not so far in 2025 (W3, D4), but are still unbeaten since the turn of the year and have lost just once in all competitions from the end of November onwards (W7, D6). They will also travel to Bergamo with an excellent recent H2H away record, winning on their last two visits, which is a far cry from the 11-match winless run they posted in away H2Hs prior (D3, L8).[/p]
[p]Overall there have been four meetings since Bologna last lost to Atalanta, and if Vincenzo Italiano’s side can make it five in a row then fans of the Red and Blues can start to dream of winning the Coppa Italia again, something they did in their first two finals in 1970 and 1974, but have never made it that far again since![/p]
[p]Players to watch: Mateo Retegui had a slow December, contributing only one assist in the Coppa Italia, but in 2025 has already scored five times with three of the goals coming at home. Charalampos Lykogiannis is another player who has had a strong start to the year with three assists from six games, although he has received a booking in both of his last two appearances.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: There have been 4+ match goals in eight of Atalanta’s last nine home games in the Coppa Italia.[/p]
