Atalanta Venezia prediction 2025-03-01

Atalanta vs Venezia prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-02-28 14:00.
[p]A 5-0 win away at Empoli last weekend was the perfect way for Atalanta to end a tough February that saw them exit both the Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League. La Dea’s post-Christmas league form (W3, D5, L1) has seen them lose momentum in the title race, but with only three points separating them from leaders Inter Milan, they can still dream of securing their first-ever top-flight title.[/p]

[p]Defensive solidity has fuelled Atalanta’s efforts more recently, keeping three consecutive Serie A clean sheets and they could make it four in a row in this competition for the first time since January 1997. Hosting Venezia boosts their chances of achieving that feat, as they have won each of their last six league H2Hs – five of them without conceding – including three at the Gewiss Stadium.[/p]

[p]Goal-shy Venezia could contribute to extending that run, as they’ve failed to score in three consecutive games, including a goalless draw against Lazio last Saturday. While that result was an improvement on three-straight defeats, the Winged Lions remain winless in nine matches (D4, L5). Starting this round six points adrift of safety, an immediate return to Serie B looms large unless they can turn things around quickly.[/p]

[p]The obvious immediate challenge for Venezia is to break their drought on the road, as they remain the only side yet to win an away league game this season (D4, L9). There have at least been signs of improvement in attack with the visitors scoring five goals across their last five away matches (D2, L3), while they even took a 2-1 lead at Juventus, only to be denied a famous victory by a painful stoppage-time penalty.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: It could prove a goal fest if Ademola Lookman finds the net, as each of his last six league goals were either the third or fourth of the match. Mikael Egill Ellertsson scored Venezia’s first strike of the match with his last two league goals on the road, both coming in 2-2 away draws.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Venezia haven’t conceded before half-time in six consecutive top-flight games for the first time since December 1999.[/p]
