Ath Bilbao Sevilla prediction 2024-05-19

Ath Bilbao vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-05-18 17:00.
[p]Athletic Bilbao continue to stutter their way towards the end of the season as they host Sevilla on Sunday after picking up a solitary win from their last seven La Liga fixtures (D3, L3). They dropped points again in their last match when, in spite of taking the lead at Celta Vigo, Athletic conceded twice in four minutes and returned east with a 2-1 defeat. [/p]

[p]Prior to their drop off in form, Ernesto Valverde’s team had snuck into the top four and fans were dreaming of a first Champions League campaign since 2014/15. But with a Copa del Rey triumph, and a top-six finish guaranteed, the San Mamés is still expected to be jumping ahead of this final home match of the season, a venue where Athletic have not lost since their season opener against Real Madrid (W14, D6).[/p]

[p]Looking to end that impressive record, mid-table Sevilla travel north after winning on both of their last two trips to Bilbao. But their away form has been disappointing this season (W4, D6, L8), with all four of their victories coming against teams outside the top nine, and they conceded two late goals on their last trip to lose 3-2 at Villarreal.[/p]

[p]Quique Sánchez Flores’ side succumbed to another injury time defeat on Wednesday when they lost 1-0 at home to relegation threatened Cadiz. After winning four from five (D1) to secure their top-flight status from Rounds 30-34, their season is now in danger of ending with a slight  whimper, although as they enter this penultimate gameweek only two points from the top ten, there still remains something to play for.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Across his career, Athletic midfielder Mikel Vesga has scored more than two goals against only one side – Sevilla! He has found the net four times against them including in both of his last two H2Hs. Youssef En-Nesyri drew a rare blank on Wednesday but the Sevilla striker had scored in four of the previous five, including three first half goals in two of the last three away fixtures.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only one of Athletic’s last 27 home games across all competitions has ended goalless. [/p]
